Families in Transition provides “safe, affordable housing and comprehensive social services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, enabling them to gain self-sufficiency and respect.”
How you can help:
- Donate online
- Volunteer opportunities include:
- Help out in our preschool or after-school programming at the Family Place, our new therapeutic center for FIT youth participants.
- Organize a food drive for our emergency food pantry or collect clothes to donate to OutFITters Thrift Store.
- Provide clerical support in one of our offices by answering phones, entering data, and filing.
- Help our maintenance department with landscaping, painting, and repairing our properties.
- Sort and organize donations at one of our OutFITters Thrift Stores, located in Manchester and Concord.
- Sponsor a social event—a board game night, dinner, or ice cream social–for our FIT families to attend.
- Offer a one-time or recurring life skills workshop for our participants. Past topics have included budgeting, crafts, yoga, aromatherapy, etc.
- Become a member of our board of directors or sit on one of our many committees. Areas include development, marketing, economic development, and programs & supportive services.
- Intern in our clinical or youth departments. Applications are always being accepted, and can be obtained by e-mailing volunteer@fitnh.org.
- Participate in a FIT fundraising event.
- Other opportunities as determined by your interests.
